Cylinder head

The cylinder head is mounted on the cylinder block, locking the cylinder and forming a closed combustion chamber. The head is usually mounted valves with springs, spark plugs, injectors. Depending on the type of engine (tact, ignition system, timing system), the device head may vary within very large limits.
Light vehicle engine can have a head made of aluminum alloy, especially for spark engines. Typically, such detail is produced by casting with subsequent machining of the channels. Heavy-duty engines, and a significant portion of automotive diesels have a cast iron head, also produced by casting.
